Creating cabaret and variety excellence TOGETHER
Rassputin's Wet Posse is Melbourne's largest cabaret collective, focusing on community, collaboration and the celebration of Art and Artists. We don't just strive to create brilliant shows, we also foster connections and a beautifully supportive space within the arts community.
Every single show is built around a fun and often quirky theme that showcases the best local talent has to offer with a positively magnetic energy.
With hits including a chaotic summer carnival with potato decorating contests, a seductive burlesque slumber party, or a quaint evening watching a range of Bird-themed dancers, we bring everything from opera, drag, burlesque, cabaret and physical comedy together to create a truly remarkable vaudeville show unike any you will see anywhere ese
- and we really mean it!
About our Shows
Who are these shows appropriate for?
Our shows are 18+ events, however we aim for our content to be accessible and enjoyable for everyone over the age of 18. Our events always have ample seating available, and optional participation where there are activities and crafts involved.
There are often elements of striptease from our burlesque acts, but these acts focus on the act of self love and celebration of all bodies, genders, ages, size and immensely talented disabili-babes too! We let an asexual curate our shows so that we can deliver the best talent, not a specific and repetitive aesthetic for a particular demographic, as our audiences are as varied as we are, and we want everyone from your gran to your metal-head straight friend to see someone like them shining on stage.
✨We have yet to have a walk out from anyone finding our shows too crass, confronting or leaving from boredom! (Or for any reason at all!)✨

What do the shows involve?
Our regular shows are a variety line-up running for 1 hour with a host and 5-8 different acts (no interval) that fit the week's theme with an engaging host to bring you along for the journey! We pride ourselves on positive engagement from our hosts to create an inviting, fun and low-stress experience for our audiences.
We sometimes run special feature shows that typically run 2 and a half hours with an interval, craft activity and up to 12 performances including circus and aerial acts, venue permitting.
Our performers come from a range of disciplines from Burlesque, Physical Comedy, Dance, Opera, Drag and more! Most are stars from Melbourne, but we do sometimes have wonderful performers joining us from interstate as well!
Plus showbags and other high quality custom merchandise available before, after and during longer shows so you can take home a souvenir!

EVERY SATURDAY at SPEAKEASY THEATRE
Join us for a drink at the Speakeasy bar and enjoy a couple of rounds of Bingo with a little teaser from some of our performers!
Then, stick around for our signature brand of silly in a one hour cabaret show!
Running from 4pm-6pm, this is the perfect treat to end a day or start your evening in the city, finishing up in time for dinner!
THE BUTTHOLE at The Butterfly Club
If you want even more POSSE in your evening, there's often a performer or two to be found on Saturday nights at The Butthole!

PLUS, we have our fingers on the pulse when it comes to venues and events happening not just in Melbourne, but in many major cities around Australia as well if you're looking for a special event to attend! Just let us know a little about what you're looking for, and we'll find something perfect for you!

The best way to find out of you're the right fit for our ever growing Posse is to come along to a show! PLUS, it's a tough time for events, so showing your support goes a long way! If money is a problem, you can help out or get in touch anyway and we'll do what we can to get you in!
We also attend lots of events so if you're in one and you DAZZLE the crowd or deliver our kind of silly, fun and totally unique performance, chances are it will get back to us.
Unfortunately we just can't take EVERYONE, we simply can't produce that many shows, or you might just not be what we're looking for at the time. If we know another production or event that is more suitable, we will try to help in any way we can.
If you're looking to be involved behind the scenes, or in the scene with a skill off the stage we'd love to hear about it though as we're always looking to grow our creative connections!
We also do HEAPS of social activities off stage! Games nights, movie nights, water parks and seeing shows together! There's always room for more friends in our community and it's a big part of our drive to combat performer isolation and improve mental health in the performing arts.
